1. Carrots are root vegetables that grow low to the ground
2. Carrots usually consist of about 88 % water, 7 % sugar, 1 % protein, 1 % fiber, 1 % ash, and 0.2 % fat.
3. Carrot's root gets color from a pigment called beta-carotene. When eating carrots, it converts the beta-carotene into vitamin A which is good for healthy eyes, bones, teeth and skin
4. Carrots grow best in loose, rich and sandy soils.
5. Carrots' leaves can reach up to 1 meter above the ground in height
6. Carrots save energy in their taproot. Their size and shape are depended on the environment they grow in.
7. Carrots' leaves contains chlorophyll which gives them a green color. It is responsible for photosynthesis.
8. Carrots produce many small flowers that are called inflorescences in the summer months.  the small flowers are held on a branch without leaves between them.
9. Carrots' seedlings start with a root and cotyledons, a first leave that helps feed the seedling.
10. Seeds should be planted 50 to 150 mm apart to allow space for them to grow.
